Headlines the Economic Calendar on Wednesday
1. UK CPI Inflation
The UK Office for National Statistics will release data on consumer price inflation for December today. Analysts expect annual CPI to come out at 1.5%, while core inflation is forecast to be 1.7%.
2. US NY Empire State Manufacturing Index
U.S NY Empire State Manufacturing Index January will be closely followed by traders. The data measures the relative level of general business conditions in New York. It is expected to an outcome of 3.55.
3. US PPI Inflation
Watch out for US Producer Price Index today. The US PPI is predicted to moves up to 1.3% from 1.1% year-on-year basis. While the Core PPI inflation is expected to stay at 1.3%. A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive for the US Dollar.
4. Crude Oil Inventories
Crude oil stocks today to be published in the U.S and it is expected to fall to -0.474M this week. If we look at last week’s data; oil stocks rose by 1.164M barrels. It will be important for oil prices.
5. Phase 1 Trade Deal
The US and China Phase1 Trade Deal signing will be set today. The trade agreement will ease an 18-month-old trade war between the world's two largest economies.
