Headlines the Economic Calendar on Wednesday
1. UK Consumer Price Index (CPI)
The UK CPI Inflation data will be on focus today. The UK CPI inflation is expected to rise to 2.2%, year-on-year, from 1.9% in the previous number.
2. Canada Retail Sales Data
The Canada Retail Sales are expected to come out at 1.0% m/m in March, while core retail sales are expected to rise to 0.9% from 0.6%. A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive for the Canadian Dollar.
3. US Crude Oil Inventories
US Crude oil stocks are expected to decline by -0.599M this week. Note that oil stocks rise by 5.431M barrels in last week.
4. FOMC Meeting Minutes
The Federal Reserve will release the minutes from its policy meeting today. At their last meeting, the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged. The Fed indicated that no immediate need to cut interest rates. Also, the US central bank continued to highlight the strength in the labor market. The FOMC Meeting Minutes may give a more detailed about Fed Outlook for 2019.
